CalOptima is an integrated health care system that administers health insurance programs for Orange County children, low income families, and persons with disabilities. The public agency's programs include coverage for people in Medi-Cal, a Medicare Special Needs Plan called OneCare, and coverage for children in the Healthy Families and Healthy Kids programs through CalOptima Kids. CalOptima's network of doctors and hospitals includes more than 5,000 primary care doctors and specialists and 20 hospitals serving nearly 330,000 members.
Children & Families Commission of Orange County invests millions of dollars in a range of programs to ensure that children are healthy and ready to learn when they enter school. To help Orange County children succeed, the nine commissioners allocate funds to programs with demonstrated and measurable impacts. Established by the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 1999, the Commission is one of 58 county commissions that share in Proposition 10 revenues (sales tax on tobacco products sold in California).

Irvine Health Foundation is a non-profit grant making foundation whose goal is to improve the health - consisting of physical, mental and emotional well-being - of the residents of Orange County, California. The Foundation is focused on promoting health and wellness, insuring the availability of accessible, quality health-related services, working in the area of health policy, and supporting research designed to develop new knowledge in areas related to health. The Foundation celebrated it's 20th Anniversary in 2006.

Kaiser Permanente serves the health care needs of 8.4 million members in 9 states and the District of Columbia. Today it encompasses the nonprofit Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and their subsidiaries, and the for-profit Permanente Medical Groups.

Merage Foundations are a group of three foundations. The Merage Foundation for the American Dream is dedicated to helping immigrants join mainstream America and encourages Americans to recognize and celebrate the contributions of new Americans and their individual and collective positive impact on the nation. The Merage Foundation for U.S.-Israel Trade is dedicated to promoting trade as a vehicle to economic growth in Israel through a number of innovative initiatives, including specialized Leadership Programs concerning U.S. marketing strategies to Israeli executives in the life sciences, security, and IT areas. CHILDREN FIRST A Merage Foundation encourages and facilitates the use of the tremendous skills and resources of Orange County's retired citizens to significantly improve the early childhood development opportunities for children from Orange County's low-income families.
Orange County Community Foundation focuses use of their unrestricted funds on health, educational and social services to the most needy youth and families, children and service access issues in the arts, education, health and social services. OCCF provides dedicated leadership, careful stewardship and a commitment to the community by serving as the center for charitable giving in Orange County.
United Way Orange County is committed to leveraging research, expertise, systems and dollars to provide the greatest community impact in Orange County. The focus of grant making is the core issues causing individuals and families to be incapable of supporting themselves, addressing these problems and proving our efforts to move these people to lead self-sufficient lives. For the 2006-2009 funding cycle United Way Orange County funded 85 safety-net programs that applied for financial support.
Pacific Life Foundation recognizes the importance of helping communities address and resolve their problems and has a record of community involvement reflected in an annual $3.6 million charitable giving program as well as in the generous volunteer activity of employees. Pacific Life's charitable giving is distributed primarily through the Pacific Life Foundation. Grants are made to organizations that address a broad spectrum of social problems.
Samueli Foundation strives to create societal value by investing in innovative, entrepreneurial and sustainable ideas that promote scholastic , technical and creative exploration and achievement; build a community of sharing, acceptance and altruism; increase awareness, knowledge and opportunities; and enhance the quality of life of the underserved. The Samueli Foundation's core values include a belief in and a commitment to leveraging education, knowledge and scientific inquiry as key social change agents; promoting the needs of the "whole individual" body, mind and spirit; and promoting Jewish culture and values.
St. Joseph Health System Foundation directs the distribution of funds for Care for the Poor programs and services. The Foundation actively seeks creative responses to the needs in each community. All Foundation funds are designated for the economically poor. St. Joseph Health System currently directs 10% of its net income from each of its hospitals to the Foundation. Seventy-five percent of these funds are returned to the hospitals to spend on their local Care for the Poor programs within their communities.
Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation supports a broad range of efforts in those areas of the State where the Sisters of St. Joseph have a presence. Giving is about $1.7 million statewide, about half in Orange County.
The California Endowment is a private, statewide health foundation that was created in 1996 as a result of Blue Cross of California's creation of WellPoint Health Networks, a for-profit corporation. An important factor in their work as a change agent is vigorous "grassroots-to-treetops" advocacy and mobilization. The California Endowment actively promotes and supports an array of local grassroots coalitions, which are deeply rooted in communities and know best the conditions that need to change.
The Healthcare Foundation for Orange County makes grants to programs and services at local hospitals, clinics and community-based organizations. The Foundation provides training and technical assistance, alone or in partnership with other funders, to assist such organizations in the provision of health services. Additionally, the Foundation is the sponsor of GrantPartners.net, a website dedicated to matching grantmakers and grant-seekers, "connecting those who make a difference in the lives of others."
